Winter in the Carolinas

My kids have totally forgot what it was like to live in the snow- The older boys have decided that if they do in fact want to do farm life it is not where there is snow- the kids have been taking care of the chickens and the cats in the snow and cold- which means emptying out ice blocks from the water container- this would not be such a hard task except for the fact that I got the kids each one hat and one pair of gloves for the winter- last year I think we lost so many hats and gloves that we had to come up with a new plan. Well strike 2 for hat and glove season- it was about the first week into this winter and the gloves are gone- not the entire pair mind you we actually have 2 right gloves. So they now have a cheap (i mean cheap) pair from the feed store and hopefully are learning a lesson about keeping up with their things. The little three are a mess- Amelia spent most of the morning planning how she was going to get one of the icicles of the roof- i love her sense of adventure and am glad that commons sense usually takes over in the end because most of the things she in interested in are always way up high- in trees, on the roof, etc. Ben and Ella acted as if the snow was something they had never seen before- totally fun as they have been dragged out in the snow since they were so little. Ella loved the snow- she played, chased Amelia, if she feel down was content to roll over and eat some snow. Benjamin on the other hand was a total mess. He was going to have nothing to do with the snow- as he did not like that it was hard to walk on. He laid down on the ground and basically rolled back and forth screaming- I was furious-- I tried to help him up and everytime he them would let his legs go limp-- irritating---- anyway the pics turned out cute!
