Good Times
Tonight we had the pleasure of having our Japanese neighbors over for dessert. This is a relationship that God has placed in our lives that has been such a blessing to us! It is amazing to learn about the culture and all the differences and then also see all the things that remain the same. It seems that a lot of time passes in between when we get together but there is also a sense of being kindred spirits as it is very comfortable to have them over and a past of our lives. I was thinking tonight about when they will have to return to Japan and was very sad over this fact- for the time we will make sure we make the most of the time we had. Tonight the father talked about going to our church here and trying to understand the bible and some of the words are so difficult to translate. They have stated before that this is there first exposure to the bible which is such a wonderful thing to be a part of! Overall God totally refreshed our spirits as we took all the kids to church and were able to sit back and enjoy the service and fellowship and really have what a consider a traditional Sunday- wonderful breakfast as a family, church, long nap, and good friends over for dessert what more could a day include. Prayer is needed for tomorrow as Darcy heads back to work for the week- although i think that i am going to be brave and take the kids to the pool and learn to relax a little and realize it is more important to enjoy life that to do things perfect- my weakness- tonight was also a great teaching time with the boys- Samuel a discussion of his wild spirit and that God created him and knows how hard self control is at times- he seemed total shocked about that fact- also let him in on a secret that mom is the same way- haha talked with Walt about the fact that he will survive life even if he messes something up- i told him he may one day mess up big but that God will welcome him back always- to that he said- "how would I mess up?" "what would I do?" As if he wants to prepare for that- haha!!! It is amazing how much my children continue to teach my about myself and my relationship with God- no wonder the bible continues to refer to them as a blessing from God- because it changes us in so many wonderful- but sometimes hard ways!
