Sick, Sick, Sick

Well that time of year has come again- the wonderful time when fall has come and is moving into winter and the weather changes begin to take their toll on everyone. This week all of us are carrying around this cold and allergy stuff.  It makes for a fun week for a mom as everyone is very emotional about even the littlest of things.  Even through it all I have children who are helpful and trying to be cheerful. It is amazing to see the different way we all struggle with self control in different areas when we are not at our best.  I would love to stay in bed and sleep it off as would amelia and walt.  Samuel and Eleanor seem to be awake even earlier and have a lot of restless energy.  We are getting excited about our Christmas plans and praying that our health quickly returns.  We have officially sent our letter to homeschool the kids and i think that they are really excited about what lies ahead.  Walt competed in the spelling bee last night. I was so proud of him as he had to get up on stage and compete in front of a large crowd.  I would of at his age either been in tears or playing up some imaginary sickness.  Amelia is keeping us laughing as she now has an imaginary friend in her blanket and he does a wide variety of things- the ones that have the boys cracking up is that blanky loves to pray and eat breakfast- haha.  Samuel us wanting to play chess all the time.  He is very confused on the rules but is hilarious to see play the game- love how he loves games and to compete just like his mom.  He read his first whole book last night "green eggs and ham"  he was also tickled that his name was in the book.  Amelia ran up to Walt today and said "i am so happy my walt will be home during the day.  Walt is enjoying reading all the time- a large variety of books as well as doing math drills. We are reading a book about the attitudes the isrealites had during the wilderness experience  and those that are sinful and we still struggle with today.  The one covered this week was complaining.  It was a great motivator as winter is upon us and being a southern girl grey skies for says on end is difficult to say the least!  We will see how well i do with not complaining in the blog- you guys can keep me accountable!  Well i am off to bed and trying to be much better with time management in the area of sleep so that i can have a much better outlook in all areas!
