Goals for the summer

Why is it when my kids are always sick I feel as though if i rearrange their rooms, vaccuum real good that the germs will somehow vanish instantly- well Samuel is on the mend so we now only have three down- yikes these are the times when you realize that 5 is a lot of kids:)  For the past 4 days we have been stuck at home with no place to go as noone wants a sick coughing, throwing up child around.  I am going crazy and realized today what a blessing homeschooling has been. There have been days this year when i have been getting everyone ready and wondered why am i doing this?? Well today as I sat with my 6 year old and listened to him read I realized why i do this- to be the one that gets to be there for many exciting times- also to be the one to cheer the little guys on when things are hard and a struggle and they want to give up- that is what reading has been like for Samuel this year- also to say come back here again and try again- complete the job "I know you can do better" isn't that the key- i can call walt back and say i know you can do better because i do know him- i know for the most part what he is capable of:)  Well this summer we are going to try and do better at having a routine- thanks to redbox we will be getting free movies on monday and that will be big for the kids to have a movie everyday!  We are going to set the goal to read for 20 minutes each day!  Now i must get some good books- ordered some off ebay today- so they are here and ready to read.  We also i must say must finish up our math- we have had many crazy things happen at the end of the year this year- but i am determined that the workbooks we have been carrying around this year will not be with us again next year.  God has been stretching us and growing us this fall as we begin a new coop group- as we have changed churches and our old church only has a coop for members- however this coop has a lot of opportunites for getting to know the other women- definetly a blessing- well you will see how we do!!!

Sorry you all are suffering with the flu! Being cooped up because you have to be is not fun. It's one thing to just stay home because you want to, but quite another to HAVE to! These years of hard work will one day be gone and we will miss them. I laughed too when I read how you were planting broccoli and lettuce -- winter vegetables here! :)
