Ch- Ch- Changes

Growing up I loved that song by David Bowie- I thought that all the changes occuring were so exciting and could not wait to see what was around the corner- now as I sit on the other side of things I am a little more cautious and a lot more emotional.  With the twins making their arrival at the end of summer things went into high gear all the sudden.  The long relaxing days at the pool were over and we are now in the middle of the crazy days of the first week of school.  The kids are like I was as a  youngster- excited about what lies ahead each day- the first day of school was an emotional tug of war for me as a mom- Walt was excited to head off to school and rode the bus with his friends the first day- Samuel opted for us to take him to school (he goes for 1/2 day starting at lunch time).  As we walked up to the school all the sudden his bottom lip began to shake and his eyes were getting really red- we prayed together and he bravely headed to class.  Both boys got off the bus in the afternoon excited to be coming home together- thank God for siblings and having a family to come home to!  The second day of school Samuel decided to ride the bus to school- as he got on the bus he had a huge smile and waved good bye- when he was out of eyesight I balled as he just seemed way too small to be riding away on the bus without me- haha!!  Amelia is still doing well with all the adjustments to the twins- however what is more upsetting to her is the fact that the boys are gone to school and she has been left behind at home.  She is slowly adjusting over the last 3 days but not happy.  Benjamin and Eleanor are trying to see how many nights mom can go without sleep before losing it- haha they are doing well just keeping us busy-i must admit Darcy is much better at the twins thing then me as he has mastered feeding them both at one time as well as carting them up and down the stairs as if it was no big deal.  We have also taken to calling the twins our little sewer rats- as we have never had a baby on formula and they do smell-  overall we feel very blessed to have such healthy and happy children- we will welcome a full nights sleep when it comes but until then will just try to treasure the time with them in the middle of the night! haha
