My Dear Friend

Well i just finished writing a post about how much I hate the public school and how i am angry that I have to pay taxes and my children are receiving a far from adequate education- but i decided that i did not need to rant and rave about something that is probably not going to change due to my displeasure! So the doorbell rang and the wonderful postman had a package for us! Immediately upon seeing the handwriting we knew that it was from Japan. We have missed our dear friends Haruki and Iho so much- that this package was a wonderful treat. It has been a crazy week of busyness and it was great to receive a birthday treat in the mail. Thank you so much Iho for remembering me and Amelia and making it such a special day. Now if only we could find a way for them to be able to come over and have Thanksgiving Day turkey with us it would be great. It is a crazy thing that you can get so used to wonderful conversation and having a friend so close by that when they are gone it is such a sad thing. I hope that one day we will be able to travel to Japan and get to experience their lives as they were so willing to join in and learn the American culture. For now we will pray that a job opening will come and that we are able to have them as neighbors once again.
