Summer

Ok so this summer was not like any summer that we have ever had before. Usually we get into the summer mode and have a very hard time coming out of it. This summer however feels like it was broken into a million different pieces that were all fun and exciting in different ways but did not get into the swing of things until last week- that is a problem as we need to start school next week. So the school supplies are bought and the books are in order- now to motivate my kids and myself. Amelia is always ready for school and asks daily when we are going to start. We had a crazy summer with a move, darcy working tons of hours, the boys are over night camp, a beach trip and two weeks at Nana and Papas. During this time I was exhausted beyond the regular stuff that goes on and thought that it was the state i was just going to be in. Things got kind of crazy and I finally gave in and went to the doctor- besides lots of fun hormonal stuff ( not what you want to hear at 37) going on I also found out I was recovering from Mono. Well at least it explained how I was feeling and has also given me an excuse to take naps::)) The kids are adjusting to our new home - well all except Samuel- he is a creature of habit as well as being on the shy side and has not taken to all the change too well. It has however opened a lot of doors to talk about prayer and hard times. All of which there are plenty of examples in the bible. The boys learned how to really ride horses while at Nana and Papas- they had a trainer come out and work with them 3 days a week. It was amazing to see them get the horse from the pasture, saddle ride and also do some jumps. The first day ended with the horse running full speed and making a quick turn near the fence- which also ended with Walt flying towards the fence. Not my idea of how riding lessons were going to go- but being a boy he felt very tough from the whole experience brushed himself off and got on again. One Saturday the boys were riding with my dad while me and mom went to the grocery store. We get a call from my dad that Samuel has taken a nasty spill. We came home and found Samuel laying on the couch and quite shokenup. It appears that they did a jump and Samuel came off the front of the horse- then only to have the horse nick him in the head and back.. Thankfully my dad has riden forever and was calm about the whole situation as I was not. The next day he was back on the horse riding again- crazy kids-- my dad reminded me that this is just the start of having boys- lovely!!!
